5 - PROGRAM / SERVICE / ACTIVITY PURPOSES
The general aim of the Adult educational Centres is the general development of each adult’s personality as well as the social, financial and cultural development of citizens and society in general.
In physical activity sessions, we aim furthermore to the physical and mental training of rach individual. Through our sessions, participants are urged to focus, think, analyze and execute a series of exercises therefore using the neuromuscular chain ‘’Stimulation- transmission-execution’’.

6 - RESOURCES
a.- Which materials were used?
The trainers most often use dumbbells, rubber bands and personal floor mats for their participation in such sessions
b.- Who conducted the program / service activity? (What role, what qualifications, etc.)
The sessions are conducted by physical educators and/or physiotherapists.

7 - METHODOLOGY USED (presentations, pair work, group work, peers, mentors, blended
learning, e-learning, etc.)
Physical activity topic of the adult centres requires participants to proceed to the lesson in groups of 10-15 people per session. Activities are implemented both in sub-groups and individually. Similarly, after a number of sessions have been completed, participants are required to instruct sessions in order to import mental work and memory training in the process. In this way, apart from their own motivation, participants are further motivated to attend sessions regularly andkeep themselves more focused.

8 - PROGRAM / SERVICE / ACTIVITY SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
8 - PROGRAM / SERVICE / ACTIVITY SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
This topic of the adult centres is done in groups. Participants sign up for the topic at the beginning of each teaching year (somewhere around September) and are then called to present themselves during the first meeting. The total number of participants is then broken down into groups consisting minimum 10 and maximum 15 individuals in order to be controlled by the trainer. Such groups are mainly consisted by women over 45-50 years of age since the majority of older men in Cyprus prefer house and outdoor activities such as gardening, swimming, walking in the fields etc.
Physical activity sessions consist mainly of physical and mental activities:
(1)Physical activities include:
- aerobic training
- strength training
- stress relieving exercises
(2)Mental activities include:
- memory training through specific lesson forms (ex.execution of a series of exercises and then asked to re-execute them)
- mental training through stress relieving exercises
-mental training through special programs focused on relaxation techniques (beach walks), discussions etc.
