5 - PROGRAM / SERVICE / ACTIVITY PURPOSES
The general aim of the Adult educational Centres is the general development of each adult’s personality as well as the social, financial and cultural development of citizens and society in general.
Dance sessions provide additional benefits of practising existing and of course improving physical and mental skills, developing self-discipline and perfecting coordination. Moreover the nature of the sessions given requires for the application of cooperation among peers

6 - RESOURCES
a.- Which materials were used?
CD player and a room
b.- Who conducted the program / service activity? (What role, what qualifications, etc.)
The sessions are conducted by a qualified dance teacher.

7 - METHODOLOGY USED (presentations, pair work, group work, peers, mentors, blended
learning, e-learning, etc.)
As all the topics in the Adult Centre progam, dance lessons too require participants to be placed in groups of 10-12 persons. Depending on the nature of the dance taught participants work individually, in pairs or even in sub-groups. The dance teacher acts as the mentor and guides the whole class. Peer leadership is also used sometimes, especially when leadership skills and memory training is added in the lesson plan.

8 - PROGRAM / SERVICE / ACTIVITY SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The head of the group gathers participants in the dance room and makes a short description of what they will practice. Dance lessons are connected to each other, since a lot of practice is applied and therefore usually a short repetition of the previous session is required. Participants are required to remember what it has been previously shown in order to move to the next part of the choreography. After a short repetition, the dance teacher begins to show any new moves and participants basically copy these moves. As described above, participants may work individually, in pairs or even in subgroups. Each participant has to show a great degree of self-discipline and coordination in order to be able to improve him/herself. A great number of repetition is applied in order for the participants to practise mentally and of course improve their memory levels.
High level of physical and mental fitness is required -and of course practised- in these sessions as besides the physical part, dance lessons practise the cognitive part of the individual. In addition we need to stress the importance of stress relief effect offered by these lessons.
