5 - PROGRAM / SERVICE / ACTIVITY PURPOSES
The program respects the ageing process, and finds important the early prevention.
Its purpose is

- To improve the quality of life and well-being of older people
- To foster the interrelations between different generations.
- To contribute to the exchange of experiences for the benefit of the population.
- To achieve older people’s personal self-esteem by making other groups to participate in their experience and skills.
- To preserve older people’s physical and intellectual vigour through the elaboration and implementation of activities.
- To demonstrate the efficacy and effectiveness of the attention to older people

Presentations, classroom with a projector. Specific printed material, images and videos.

7 - METHODOLOGY USED (presentations, pair work, group work, peers, mentors, blended
learning, e-learning, etc.)
Tasks were carried out with printed material and with Powerpoint slides, through images and video projection.
The program aimed at improving the cognitive maintenance and stimulation with the following work areas:
- Sensorial memory (visual, auditory, tactile).
- Explicit memory: In the short term and in the long term: Episodic (recent and distant events) and Semantic (learned knowledge).
- Implicit memory.
The contents of the activities carried out have been: calculation, attention, reasoning, spatial orientation, linguistic factors, exercises related to with sensorial memory, executive functions (seriation, planning, categorization), photographs of known places, photographs of the own participants, exercises also adapted
- Spatial-temporal orientation

Temporal orientation has been working on through exercises related with important dates and festivities, etc. On spatial orientation, tasks of drawing maps of known places, with geographical maps, were carried out. The student describes verbally how to get to certain places.

- Language exercises

Improving their language skills they do some exercises about synonyms and antonyms, incomplete or disordered words, incomplete sayings, crosswords, etc.

- Long term and short term memory

For the stimulation of the long-term memory they did exercises of remembering historical dates, autobiographical memories, stories about important events in the life of the participants.

- Mental calculation exercises

They included the realization of activities such as finding sequences of numbers, use of the four basic rules in their head.

- Attention exercises

Mainly gesture, visual attention, auditory attention and verbal reasoning exercises, among others.

8 - PROGRAM / SERVICE / ACTIVITY SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
In the theoretical introduction the participants learn about the human memory, how it works, its neuropsychology with the help of a trainer, then they overview the different memory models, and discuss the history of memory research as well. Subsequently they begin the practical part of the training, while they develop their memory and creativity, as well as the memory system of relations and associations, with various methods and practices.
This programme is very much centred on the cognitive functions and we might use its foundings in our material.
